Desertification is a process that turns fertile land into desert areas. It’s caused by humans cutting down tree/plant matter or prominent rock in the areas. For bigger deforestation they sometimes use chemicals to add to the soil, the chemical spreads though the soil killing other plants and animals. To help prevent this, a group called Kwon’s Future Forest is creating the “Great Green Wall” to prevent the Gobi desert spreading further. The group have already planted four million saplings but are hoping to increase to one billion by the end of this project.
